Unicorn Theatre is one of the leading producers of professional theatre for children and young people in the UK. Its home on the South Bank of the Thames is the only purpose-built theatre for young people in London. In addition to its own award-winning plays, the Unicorn hosts the best visiting national and international work for children and run a highly regarded Education Programme. All its work emphasises the vital role that the arts play in enriching children’s learning. Opened in December 2005, the Unicorn houses an education studio, a rehearsal studio, a café and other welcoming areas for families and schools. The theatre company was founded in 1947 by Caryl Jenner, whose unique vision and inspiration made the building of this flagship theatre possible.
