STEP is pleased to welcome you all to its ninth Festival: STEP Beyond!
This year the Festival is bigger than ever before: extended to three months and closing with the first ever STEP Conference in February 2013.
The Festival is jam-packed with events, performances and workshops in celebration of theatre created by, with and for young people in Southwark. There are opportunities to get involved in projects covering the entire spectrum of theatre and performing arts activities. The workshops, performances and programmes which STEP Beyond offers are delivered by STEP partner organisations brought together under the Festival umbrella. The activities on offer throughout the Festival introduce young people to new techniques and skills, create a means of expression to challenge and address relevant issues whilst engaging young people in bringing stories, characters and situations to life.
The STEP Conference 2013: ‘What Can Drama Do for Children and Young People and What Can Children and Young People Do for Drama?’ will support the value of theatre and drama with young people through critical evaluation and showcasing examples of best practice. Each project commissioned as part of the STEP Festival will respond to this theme, and develop a reflection or piece of research for the STEP Conference. Please click here for more information.
Please open the attached document to view all the projects available as part of the Festival.
All STEP Festival activities are FREE to schools and young people, so email or call now to book and be a part of STEP Beyond!
