    Five Southwark secondary schools are signed up to participate in the first STEP Schools' Showcase. St Thomas the Apostle College Harris Academy Bermondsey St Michael and All Angels Academy The Charter School Kingsdale As a development of our Youth Theatre Showcases, STEP is offering six GCSE Drama groups the chance to workshop their pieces in the run up to their final exam, performing to other students in the borough, praising and critiquing each other's work.

    On Monday 28th February the outcome of a collaboration between students at The Charter School and London Transport Museum went live. Until Sunday 13th March if you are at the bus stop opposite Nandos on Coldharbour Lane/Denmark Hill in Camberwell you can download a bluetooth film to your phone. The film was made by the young people and is based on the theme of "journeys" and the final piece is called "A New Beginning". Take a look at the film here

    The first four schools have signed up to be official STEP Education Partners! Snowsfields Primary School, Goose Green Primary School, Bessemer Grange Primary School and 1st Place Children and Parent Centre are all now officially STEP Education Partners.

    STEP Festival Evaluation Meeting: Edric Hall, London Southbank University on Wednesday 9 March, 5-7pm As funding gets tighter over the coming year, the delivery of free programmes within schools and youth settings in Southwark will be harder and harder to achieve. By coming together to evaluate work to date and planning forthcoming programmes we can ensure that we make the best use of funds which are available. The partnership we have with schools and theatre companies and between your organisations can become even stronger with your input.

    As 2010 draws to a close we can look back over what has been a really excellent year at STEP.From the biggest and most ambitious Work Experience Programme in February 2010 with St Michaels and All Angels Academy and The Charter School, to the launch of the STEP website in March, the introduction of SCAS in May, the colourful and captivating Toad! At The Scoop in June and the Festival vibe building from September to December this really has been a year to remember.  And we have lots more to come in the rest of this academic year.

    STEP is pleased to announce the arrival of the STEP Festival 2010 - STEP Together. The Festival takes place from 15th - 26th November 2010. The jam-packed fortnight of events, performances and workshops is a chance to celebrate theatre created by, with and for young people in Southwark. There are opportunities to get involved in projects covering the entire spectrum of theatre and performing arts activities.
