Technical Theatre Apprenticeships – 24 months
(Under 22 - £10,608.00 pa and 22 and over - £12,958.40 pa)

Is this the next stage in your career?

In its three theatres on the South Bank in London the National Theatre presents an eclectic mix of new plays and classics from around the world. With a commitment to openness, wide reaching engagement and access for everyone it aspires to reflect the diversity of the nation’s culture.

Working as part of the Technical department you will learn about and understand the role of a Theatre Technician within the performing arts industry whilst getting hands on experience.

These apprenticeships have been set up in order to provide a pathway into the theatre industry and the NT. It is for enthusiastic and committed people who haven’t yet gained experience of working in a professional theatre but who have an interest in this area of the arts. The apprenticeship offers the chance to work within the Stages Department of the Cottesloe Theatre, at the National Theatre, as well as gaining recognised qualifications in technical theatre at Lewisham College.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a positive approach who has a genuine interest in working backstage in a performing arts organisation.

To be eligible to apply you must -
- Be over 18 years old in February 2012
- Not have previous experience of working in a professional theatre
- Not hold a degree or post graduate qualification

The NT actively encourages applications from women, Black, Asian and Ethnic minority groups; particularly those living in Greenwich, Hackney, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, or Waltham Forest.
