National Theatre

The National Theatre’s eclectic mix of new plays and classics from around the world, with seven or eight plays in repertoire at any time, offers an inspiring resource for teachers and school students. Our South Bank building houses every aspect of theatre-making, from playwriting and rehearsal to scenery and prop-making studios.

Join us at one of the regular Teacher Preview evenings to find out more about what the National Theatre can offer you and your students. Group rate tickets for schools are available for all our shows, except Travelex £12 shows. You can enhance your group’s visit with a host of other on-site events and opportunities including workshops, pre-show Q&As and visits to the NT Archive. You can also combine your visit to the theatre with a fascinating Backstage Tour and discover the secrets of the National Theatre’s work. Video and audio content from and about past and current productions is available to download from our website as well as interactive whiteboard resources, an online tour of the National Theatre and resource packs about productions staged by the NT.
